Maa Shakti (The Great Power), which existed much before the
universe.
In fact the universe existed in it and it is the cause of its continuance
and cessation.
We call it Brahma. Shakti, the Creator, the mother power. In female
form it is Brahma's Prakriti. It is also Brahma Purush.
Together as one they created the Universe. What Aadi Shakti is to
Brahma, a woman is to a man.
Maa Shakti (the mother power) gave birth to Goddess Lakshmi,
Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Parvati.
She also gave birth to Vishnu., Brahma and Mahesh - the holy trinity
of Hindu Gods.
It is she who created the elements, establishing the law of nature
that nothing can be created without a woman.
Women gave birth ti Shri Ram and Shri Krishna, to Nanak
and Kabir, but what has man given to a woman ?
Sita was punished twice. Once she had to embrace flames to prove
her chastity and once she exiled even when she was a pregnant woman.
Similarly, Ahilya was turned into a stone.
Draupadi was subjected to the ordeal of being the wife of five brothers
who couldn't protect her whe she was disrobed by their kith and
kin.
Even today women are being oppressed. Everyday brides are being
burnt for lack of dowry.
killing of female fetus is common. Man has forgotten that the world
would perish and nothing would be born if women perish.
Only woman can create. She is the mother. She is the power -
a descendent of Maa Shakti who took several births to protect her
honour.
She appeared as Durga to kill Mahishasur and as Kali to kill Chand
and Mund.
Do not forget as Lakshmi she gives you wealth and prosperity,
and as Saraswati she gives you wisdom - but if need be, she
can cause of your cessation also because she is the mother Power.
She is Shakti - Brahma Shakti.
